Bristol Hawks had three finalists in this years National Club Grades held in Birmingham on the weekend of the 20th /21st April. Regions from across Great Britain [13 regions in total] send their top 4 girls in each grade to take part in this team event. In Grade 8 Gabrielle Wild was competing for the first time for the South West region and was delighted to hit all her routines successfully. Her team narrowly missed out on the medals placing 4th= alongside London & Wales.
In Grade 6 Robyn Lacey put in a steady performance to be the top scorer for her team and she moved up 5 places from last year to place 11th= individually from a field of around 50 gymnasts, her team placed 6th.
In Grade 5 [the top national club grade] Paisley Boyce led the South West to the Gold Medals in the Team event and also won an individual silver medal in the all around. Paisley was top scorer on Floor with a beautifully chreographed routine and also second on beam where she performed a well executed leap combination and successfully hit all her set elements.
The South West Team confirmed its place as one of the top regions in the country just 1 mark from the lead in the Rosebowl. The Rosebowl is awarded for the top region across all the nationally contested grades including the Elite grades which take place next weekend. GO SOUTH WEST!!
