High Performance Squad Selection Success for 2014

A great start to the year for Bristol Hawks with Claudia Fragapane securing her place in Great Britain Senior Squad [top 14 gymnasts in GB]; Rowena Needham selected to GB Espoir Squad [top 12/13 year old gymnasts] and Izzy Davis selected into GB HND Squad [top 10/11 year old gymnasts].
For Izzy this is her first selection into a GB squad and along with Bristol Hawks team coach Carolyn Fyfe she recently attended the first squad of the year from 9th-11th January at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. Izzy acquitted herself very well training hard and catching the eye of the National Coaches even winning a sticker for routine of the day! Bristol Hawks hosted the first SW Regional squad of the year held on January 5th. Bristol Hawks girls that have been selected for the South West Regional Squad for 2014 are:
Kathryn Heathcote, Claudia Fragapane, Rowena Needham, Izzy Davis, Gabby Wild, Elize Waits, Emily Edge, Teagan Andrews and Alice Wintle.
Bristol Hawks girls are also amongst the first girls selected for a new initiative from British Gymnastics: South West Performance Pathway Camps. These camps are being run by the top coaches from the region [including the Bristol Hawks Coaching Team] and are designed to raise standards across the region. Our girls selected for this squad are Roxanne Price, Mayalee Osola and Izzy Wheeler.
