Claudia Fragapane has been selected to represent England at the 2011 Sainsbury’s UK School Games.
The UK School Games were initially set-up to give athletes of school age the opportunity to compete in a multi-sport environment and are designed specifically to replicate the feel of a major event such as the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. This year it is to be held in Sheffield from 1st – 4th September. Bristol Hawks gymnasts & coaches have been selected for the Games before: In 2009 Amy Sharp used the games to launch her Great Britain International career & Shannon Lee was part of the winning Welsh Team.
Claudia, who has had a series of successes in high level events this year, will use UK School Games as a stepping stone in her development towards future Great Britain representation. Also selected as England Team Coach is Helen Potter who alongside Peter Aldous & Team Manager Karen Chapman will guide the young England Team helping them make the most of this unique opportunity. Well done Claudia.
