Wow what a weekend!! Fantastic results across the board for EVERY Bristol Hawks Gymnast. ALL our girls passed their grade with a score high enough to achieve the top standard ~ DISTINCTION ~
In Grade 14
TEAGAN ANDREWS was 1st in the All Around standings & 1st on both Vault & Floor ~ her focused approach was admirable for one so young; GRACE CRUICKSHANK was 2nd All Around & 1st on beam ~ her classy presentation of her work will certainly stand her in good stead for the future; LARISSA ROYAL had a good competiton & was strong on the Vault where she was 2nd overall; ELIZE WAITS has improved so much in confidence, this was particularly noticeable in her performance on Beam; AMEEYNA PORTEOUS has worked hard to improve her strength on Bars & it was pleasing to see just how much she has moved forward on this apparatus.
In Grade 13
ISABEL DAVIS was outstanding. She was 1st in the All Around standings [like Teagan she is also a grade ahead of her age] and was either 1st or 2nd on every apparatus. Her results reflect her fantastic attitude in training. CAMERON RODGERS produced her best performance ever. She smiled her way to 3rd in the All Around standings & was also 3rd on both Vault & Range & Conditioning.
In Grade 12
ELLOUISE CHALLENGER has made fantastic progress and this showed in the consistency of her performance. She was 3rd in the All Around & also 2nd on Bars & Vault & 3rd on Beam.
In Grade 11
LUCY KENDALL was 1st= on the Bars & received a well deserved distinction. She is a delight to coach always giving her best effort & it was lovely to see her compete well after an uncharacteristic fall from Beam.
All the girls presented themselves well & were a credit to their coaches whose meticulous preparation & careful, unrushed approach was [and continues to be] crucial. The basic techniques necessary for the correct performance of the more complicated skills must be in place before moving on. This is the key to each child reaching their full potential & requires a coaching team that can provide individual programmes for each child. Well Done to Carolyn, Rhian & Rory.
