South West Champion Gymnast 2012

Claudia Fragapane is once again South West Regional Champion. Claudia took the title at the the South West FIG & Challenge Cup Competition held in Bristol on 17th June. Claudia was exceptionally good on the vault where she debuted her new second vault, full twisting straight tsukahara, and scored an outstanding 14.20 for her sky high full twisting yurchenko. Joining Claudia in the Junior age group was Lauren Gore [4th] who was using this competition as a build up to the British Championships where she will be competing for her first time at this level.
In the Challenge Cup section [those not yet qualified for the British Championships] Paisley Boyce was 4th overall in the Espoirs age group and stuck her beam for a second place on this apparatus she also took 3rd place for a lovely floor routine. In the Senior Challenge Katheryn Heathcote won the silver medal with a good performance which included successfully landing her straight front full twist at the end of her floor routine.
