Bristol Hawks is very proud of our very own Claudia Fragapane who is FLYING HIGH at the European Championships. She competes on Saturday & Sunday in the Finals.
Great Britain are the team to watch at the European Championships, with both spectacular & steady performances they are giving the crowd at the Armeec Arena in Sofia Bulgaria a great show.
The GB team have already produced a series of historic results. First our Junior Team took the first ever medal in a European Championships Team event placing second. Next the Senior Teams Great Britain finished their team qualification competition in first place (172.147). Our senior team has never won gold in a European Championship, so if they are able to repeat their performance in the team finals it will be historic for British Gymnastics and for the European Championships.
Then Ellie Downie won GB first ever Junior European AA medal – Bronze [with Catherine Lyons 4th].
Britain has also qualified a gymnast to EVERY final:
Juniors : Ellie Downie & Amy Tinkler on Vault [14.516;14.283]; Ellie Downie on Bars [13.6]; Catherine Lyons & Teal Grindle on Beam [13.7;13.5] and Catherine Lyons & Amy Tinkler on floor [13.8;13.733]
Seniors : Claudia Fragapane on Vault [14.462]; Rebecca Downie & Rebecca Tunney on uneven bars [15.1, 14.966];Rebecca Downie on balance beam [14.2] and Claudia Fragapane floor [14.766]
GOOD LUCK for all the Finals GO GB!!!
