South West Men's Elite and Club Grade Qualifiers 2016

Bristol Hawks Boy’s travelled to Barnstable on September 18th to take part in the Regional competition of British Gymnastics National Development Plan. In addition to regional medals & titles the top boy’s will be chosen to represent the South West at the National Finals in Birmingham later in the year.
The Elite Under Age Level 1 boys do not have a final as they are too young but Bristol Hawks Kamani Alcott was the All Around Champion and gained valuable experience for next year.
In Elite Level 2 Three of our boys made National finals with Jay Franklin being crowned Champion repeating last years success and was also top scorer on 5/8 of the apparatus. Taking the AA bronze was Noah Ford & close behind in 4th place AA & Champion on the Vault was Calum Honey. In Elite Level 2, stepping up one place from last year to become this years Champion was Shay Van-Hinds.
In Club Level 1 our newcomer to Bristol Hawks Jack McManus placed 6th AA and was selected into the SW team. He also was the top scorer on the Floor. In Club Level 2 Toby Stewart competed in this for the first time & placed a creditable 12th AA. In Club Level 3 Freddie Butchers won the AA silver medal placing one rank higher than last year and he also was top scorer on the pommel horse & made national finals. Alf McCullough continued his progress from last year by again improving his regional ranking by two places placing 10th AA. In Club Level 4 Dylan Hunt also moved up the rankings to place 4th AA & 1st on Vault earning him a place in the SW Team. In Club Level 5 Theo Birakos just missed out on team selection placing 5th AA. In Club Level 6 Bill McCullough won the silver medal AA repeating last years success and he also top scored on the Rings and was selected for the SW Team.
It was another highly successful competition for our boys team with 3 All Around Champions; 6 AA medalists and 8 gymnasts selected to represent the South West.
