South West Age Groups & Challenge Cup 2016

Bristol Hawks once again produced fantastic results at the Regional Age Group Championships held in Melksham.
In the youngest age group [Level 5] Poppy Edwards was crowned overall South West Champion both on the day, in the Voluntary Championships, and also in the Combined Championships where the Compulsory results from earlier in the year are added in to determine the SW Level 5 Champion for the year. Also competing in Level 5 Charlotte Brook performed a personal best on the vault placing 2nd and 8th in the AA standings.
In Level 4 Both Poppie Abbott & Alexie Hunt performed well to place 7th & 8th respectively. Poppy was 3rd on both Vault & Beam.
Our Level 3 girls Becky James, Amelie Douglas & Kate Trott were outstanding. On the day it was Becky’s consistency that won through, placing 1st on 3/4 apparatus. Becky was awarded the AA South West Voluntary Level 3 title with Amelie 2nd & Kate 4th. Amelie won the Combined title, Becky 2nd & Kate placed 4th. All three girls will go forward to represent the Region at the National Finals. Highlights included superb beam routines from Becky & Kate, placing them 1st & 2nd on this apparatus & a stellar performance on bars from Amelie where she placed 1st.
In Level 2 Both our girls successfully showcased their new work. Mayalee Osola took the bronze medal AA with Roxanne Price placing 5th.
In the FIG Espoir Emily Edge in her first year in this age group had a clean sweep winning every apparatus to take the South West Regional Title.
In the Challenge Cup Junior section Caitlin Lochhead, also in her first year at this age group, won vault with a tidy Piked Tsukahara and successfully competed her new dismount on beam to place second on this event and 4th AA. Well Done to all.
