English Championships 2016

A fantastic weekend at Loughborough University culminated with Claudia being Crowned English All Around Champion with a personal best score.
Competing for Bristol Hawks in the Under 18 Men’s section was Harry Andrews. Harry was using this competition as a build up to the British Championships. Harry competed on 5 out of 6 apparatus which included a top 10 finish on Pommel Horse and his highest score of 12.6 on Parallel Bars for a clean routine with a double back finish.
The Espoir [12/13 year olds] Women’s section boasted a large entry of 65 gymnasts with an excellent standard shown through out. Izzy Davis was 16th AA with a clean bars giving her 6th place finish on this apparatus. First year Espoirs Emily Edge & Alice Wintle gained valuable experience placing 30th & 38th respectively.
However the weekend belonged to Claudia who put in a fantastic performance to achieve a personal best score and the All Around title, winning by over a mark from 2nd place Amy Tinkler. Claudia also won Gold on Bars Beam and Floor. Following her success from the Glasgow World Cup this bodes well for the year ahead.
